Ambient New Tab browser extension and ambientnewtab.com, made by Rainbase Leads Inc., Brooklyn, New York · Effective October 25, 2026

These are the terms for using Ambient New Tab and for buying Pro. They are written in plain English on purpose. The short version: the free themes are free forever, Pro unlocks everything we make, either as a subscription ($5.99 a month or $39.99 a year) that you can cancel at any time or as Pro Forever ($59, paid once, never renews), you have 14 days from your first payment to change your mind, and we will always tell you the truth about what you are buying.

The free version

Installing Ambient New Tab from the Chrome Web Store gives you the free themes with no account, no time limit, and no strings. You can use it for as long as you like. We may add, change, or retire free themes over time.

What Pro is

You choose one of three plans at checkout:

• $5.99 USD a month, a subscription.
• $39.99 USD a year, a subscription.
• Pro Forever, $59 USD once. One payment. It never renews and never expires.

While your subscription is active, or once you own Pro Forever, Pro unlocks:

• Every Pro theme available today, and every new theme as we release it.
• Music sync, which animates themes to the audio playing in a tab.
• Any other Pro-only features we add.

Artist-made theme packs, if we ever sell them, are separate products and are not part of Pro, including Pro Forever. We will say so clearly before you buy any.

Pro Forever

Pro Forever is a single payment of $59 USD. You are never charged again, and there is nothing to cancel. It covers everything listed above, including every theme we make in the future, for as long as Ambient New Tab exists. It is tied to the email you use at checkout, like every other plan. If you already subscribe and switch to Pro Forever, cancel your subscription so it does not renew.

Renewal and cancelling

This section is about the monthly and yearly plans. Pro Forever never renews. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and the card you used is charged the price of your plan, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, in under a minute: open a new tab, click Themes, then Manage subscription. You can also email hello@ambientnewtab.com from the address you used at checkout and we will cancel it for you.

When you cancel, you are not charged again and you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. After that the extension goes back to the free themes. Nothing is deleted, and you can subscribe again whenever you like.

If a renewal payment fails, Pro is paused until the card is updated.

How Pro is tied to you

Your purchase is linked to the email address you give at checkout. That lets you restore Pro on another computer or after reinstalling by entering the same email. One subscription or purchase is for one person; please do not share your Pro login with others. If you lose access, email us and we will sort it out.

Payment

Checkout is handled by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe for card processing. We never see or store your card details. The charge appears on your statement as AMBIENT NEW TAB or AMBIENTNT. Prices are in US dollars; your bank may add a currency conversion fee, which we do not control. We may change the price of Pro in the future. If the price of a plan you are subscribed to goes up, we will tell you by email before your next renewal so you can cancel first. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for, or a Pro Forever you already own.

Refunds: 14 days from your first payment, no questions

If Pro is not for you, email hello@ambientnewtab.com within 14 days of your first payment, from the address you used at checkout, and we will refund it in full and cancel the subscription. The same applies to Pro Forever: 14 days from the payment, full refund, and Pro is switched off. You do not need to give a reason. Refunds go back to the original card and usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear, depending on your bank. After those 14 days, and for renewal payments, charges are not refunded; cancel before the renewal date and you will not be charged again. If you forgot to cancel and a renewal just went through, email us anyway and we will be reasonable.

Please email us before disputing a charge with your bank. A refund from us is faster for you and far less painful for a small company than a chargeback.

Gifts

You can buy a year of Pro for someone else at ambientnewtab.com/gift. A gift is one payment of $39.99 USD. Nothing renews on the buyer's card. The buyer receives a single-use gift code straight away, on the page after checkout.

The code gives the person who redeems it their first year of Pro at no charge, on the monthly or the yearly plan. Gift codes can't be used on Pro Forever. It works once, never expires, and has no cash value. Checkout may ask the recipient for a card so Pro can carry on after the gift year. They are not charged during that year, and from then on the normal terms above apply to their subscription, including renewal and cancelling. If they cancel before the gift year ends, they are never charged.

Gift refunds: email hello@ambientnewtab.com within 14 days of buying, from the address you used at checkout, and as long as the code has not been redeemed we will refund you in full and switch the code off. Once a code has been redeemed it can't be refunded to the buyer. Please keep your code private: whoever enters it first gets the year. If a code is lost or not working, email us and we will help.

Your data

The extension runs on your computer. It never sends us your browsing or searches. If you say yes to anonymous usage stats, it sends us counts of which themes and features you use, and you can switch that off at any time; if you don't, it sends nothing about how you use it. What little it stores (including your first name, only if you choose to type it), and what ExtensionPay and Stripe keep for payment purposes, is explained in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

What you can and cannot do

• You can use Ambient New Tab on any computer you own or control, for personal or work use.
• You cannot resell, redistribute, or repackage the extension or its themes, or remove the Pro lock and pass the themes on to others.
• You cannot use the extension to do anything unlawful, or to interfere with the service that checks your Pro status.

The extension, the themes, the artwork, and the code are owned by Rainbase Leads Inc. or our licensors. Buying Pro gives you a license to use them, not ownership of them.

Changes and shutdown

We may update the extension, add or retire themes, and change features as the product evolves. If we ever have to discontinue Ambient New Tab entirely, we will give notice on this website and, where we can, by email. In that case we would cancel every subscription so that nobody is charged again.

No warranty

Ambient New Tab is provided "as is." We work hard to make it smooth and reliable, but we cannot promise it will run perfectly on every computer, graphics card, or browser version, or that it will be free of bugs. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rainbase Leads Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension or this website. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, in the 12 months before the claim, which for the free version is nothing.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by email will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Kings County, New York.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. Changes never take away anything you already paid for.
